 A bulk of university student of color show signs of post-traumatic stress condition after watching social media video clips of authorities killing unarmed Black guys, research discovers.


Seeing such killings common on social media adds to stress and anxiousness and fear of future authorities encounters, scientists say.


The study in the Journal of Black Studies surveyed 134 university student in the Unified Specifies, in between the ages of 18 and 24, 77% of which were Black or Latinx.

The scientists analyzed the students' interactions with authorities brutality video clips, their responses to authorities killings of unarmed Black guys and boys, their own encounters with authorities, and their understandings about authorities physical violence.


They found that 90% of the trainees observed several acts of authorities physical violence on various social media systems, with many coverage finding the video clips hard to watch, while others common rage, aggravation, and fear over these video clips.

Previous studies have revealed that Black individuals are 3 times more most likely to be eliminated by authorities compared to white individuals and 5 times more most likely to be unarmed when eliminated. Scientists say authorities reform is had to quit the killing of Black guys, ladies, and children by police.
